Kitchen tile carries two very different jobs. The floor has to survive dropped cookware, standing water at the sink, and the heaviest traffic in the house. The backsplash is a focal surface viewed from three feet away, where every joint width, outlet cut, and termination is visible and where craftsmanship either shows or does not.

Titan Builder & Renovation installs both as part of a coordinated kitchen scope. Backsplash tile has to be templated against the finished counter and cabinet layout, outlets have to be planned so cuts fall cleanly, and range and hood terminations have to be resolved before the first sheet goes up. Doing that requires the tile installer to be part of the kitchen team, not a subcontractor who arrives after the counters are set.

What kitchen tile installation in Naples actually involves

Naples has the highest concentration of luxury interior spend in Southwest Florida, and flooring is where that spend is most visible. Between Port Royal estates, Old Naples cottages, and Park Shore and Pelican Bay towers, we are usually asked to hold a single uninterrupted floor plane across 3,000 to 6,000 square feet — which puts every layout decision, every transition, and every lippage tolerance under scrutiny.

Substrate and subfloor preparation in Naples

Most Naples homes sit on monolithic post-tensioned or conventional slabs poured close to grade, and older Old Naples and Moorings properties frequently hide two or three generations of previous adhesive, mud beds, and patch work. We test slab moisture with in-situ relative humidity probes before any adhered installation, grind off residual cutback and thin-set, and re-level with a cementitious self-leveling underlayment so the finished floor is flat to industry tolerance rather than following an out-of-plane slab.

Permits, associations, and access

Interior-only flooring replacement inside the City of Naples generally proceeds without a building permit, but Pelican Bay, Park Shore, and Grey Oaks associations require insurance certificates, approved work hours, elevator protection, and sound-attenuation underlayment documentation before a crew can start. We prepare those packages in advance so your first day on site is a work day, not a lobby negotiation.

Do you install kitchen tile installation in Naples?

Yes — Naples is our home market and the majority of our flooring work happens between Old Naples and Pelican Bay. Kitchen scopes cover floor tile, backsplash, and feature walls, coordinated with cabinetry, counters, and appliance installation.

Should kitchen floor tile go under the cabinets?

Generally no for a new kitchen — tiling to the cabinet face saves material and allows the cabinet boxes to be shimmed and levelled directly on the slab. The exception is when appliances need to slide out level with the finished floor, so we plan dishwasher and refrigerator openings to the finished height regardless.

When should the backsplash be installed during a kitchen remodel?

After the counters are fabricated and installed, and before final plumbing and electrical trim. The counter establishes the reference line for the first course, and installing the backsplash before it means guessing at that line — which is where crooked first courses come from.

What grout is best for a kitchen backsplash?

A high-performance stain-resistant grout is worth the modest upcharge behind a range or sink, because cement grout absorbs oil and sauce and shows it permanently. At the counter joint and inside corners we use color-matched silicone rather than grout so the joint can move.

Do Naples condo associations require special underlayment under new flooring?

Most Park Shore, Pelican Bay, and Moorings high-rises require a sound-rated underlayment with documented IIC and STC values before approving hard-surface flooring above the first floor. We supply the manufacturer test data with the association submittal and install to the tested assembly.

Can you match new tile to an existing Naples lanai or pool deck?

Usually yes. We source the interior tile and its exterior-grade companion from the same production run where the manufacturer offers one, and where they do not we design a deliberate threshold detail so the change reads as intentional rather than as a mismatch.
